Living Within Your Limited Resources
By Matt DoblerThere are many “Financial Gurus” these days offering financial advice on television, in financial papers and magazines, and even on the Internet. But have you noticed that the advice is generally for people who don’t really need to worry much about expenses? What about people who do not have enough means to get by? How do they live on what little they earn?
First try to rectify the reasons for having so little money. If it is a result of you being unemployed, then the first thing that you need to do is find a job.
On the other hand, if your personal savings are the best you can do based on your personal situation, then you need to find a way to live through it and make the best of it.
If you have very little money, the key to getting by is to try to live within your means. Budget carefully and do your best to buy only what you can afford. Watch your bank account constantly to make sure that you are not overdrawn.
Remember, you must first buy all necessary items and not any luxuries. Try to look for cheaper vegetables and other inexpensive healthy food items. It will serve you well to buy these rather than expensive and fancy food items.
A great way to do this is to buy generic brands at your local grocery store and pharmacy. These products usually offer the same quality but are much less expensive.
The other secret is to save, save, save. Even if you just put $10 aside every week, that money will grow over time and you will eventually have an account for emergencies.
Another important thing is to keep as far away from credit cards and loans as possible. These can spoil your budget and make you worse off.
